Description
Our fascination with rubber duckies as a bathtime companion did not start with the idea of them being made for the purpose they hold today. The first duck toys (which inspired the one you see in this photo) were made of wood for dogs to play and chew on.
The version of the rubber ducky we have loved since first appeared around 1940 and was made of hard rubber. This creation is credited to Robert Ganine, who patented it as a floating toy. Fast forward to the 21st century, and a variety of the original rubber ducky has stormed the market for all to enjoy. This cute little symbol of happiness was initially inspired by two famous Disney characters who are ducks. Kids were enticed to go to the bath because of these characters, and toy companies have taken notice. But instead of going through the expensive process of buying and maintaining a license, they opted for a more generic look, hence the yellow rubber duck.
This image of a pool filled with floating rubber ducks holds the feeling of joy and happiness when you look at it. It brings back memories you had with parents or siblings during bath time at home. Have it displayed in your home, and let it remind you that you were once a carefree kid with no challenging problems to deal with. And sometimes this kid needs to replace your adult self just so you can detach yourself from life for a moment, coming back stronger and refreshed, just like how you go out of the bathroom back then, feeling clean and relaxed after spending time with some suds and your favorite rubber ducky.
